Reference Page “Paragraph” Formatting



The references for an APA formatted paper should use  special indentation function under Paragraph of the home tool bar..  By selecting “Hanging” as the indentation formatting for the reference page, your own references will be formatted correctly -.  See pg. 49 of the APA 6th edition manual for how a properly formatted reference page looks. Run on Sentences and How to Avoid These


A common error of novice writers is the “run on” sentence. 

A quick way to identify a run on sentence is to check and see if the sentence takes up over three lines of typed text.  

In which case, separate the sentence into two different sentences. This may also help you with the MEAL method of writing which requires a minimum of 4 sentences per paragraph
